The Symbol GAN means to stop. It symbolises a mountain. We should stop when we should and we should go on when we must. Moving and stopping should match with time in order to achieve things.

A mountain never moves. Man must learn this stability like a mountain. We should not act hastily or push too hard. This principle is well adapted to Tae Kwon Do. Though fast actions seem fine, we should know where and when to stop. The stance Beom Seogi is included because it is a very stable stance yet allows us free movement.

 

1. Turn 90 left moving left foot into left tiger stance and execute a right middle section palm block.

2a. Keeping left foot in place execute front kick with right leg.

2b. Step back with right foot into left tiger stance and execute a left stabbing block.

3. Turn 180 right moving right foot into right tiger stance and execute a left middle section palm block.

4a. Keeping right foot in place execute front kick with left leg.

4b. Step back with left foot into right tiger stance and execute a right stabbing block.

5. Step 90 left moving left foot out into left back stance an execute a low section knife hand guarding block.

6. Step forward moving right foot into right back stance and execute a low section knife hand guarding block.

7a. Turn 90 left moving left foot into left tiger stance and execute a right middle section palm block while moving          left hand under elbow.

7b. Remain in the same stance and execute a right high section back - fist strike.

8a. Turn 180 right moving right foot into right tiger stance and execute a left middle section palm block while            moving right hand under elbow.

9. Turn 90 left into closed stance, place left palm over knuckles of right fist in front of body and raise slowly to chin       level at half arms length.

10a. Step forward moving left foot out into left long stance and execute simultaneous left thumb side block and           right low section block.

10b. Remain in the same stance and execute simultaneous right thumb side block and left low section block.

11a. Step forward moving right foot out into right long stance and execute   simultaneous right thumb side block           and left low section block.

11b. Remain in the same stance and execute simultaneous left thumb side block and right low section block.

12. Turn 270 left moving left foot out into left long stance and execute double middle section block.

13a. Remain in the same stance execute double knife hand strike to the neck.

13b. Keeping left foot in place execute a low section strike with the right knee passing closed hands by both sides.

13c. Jump forward into right X - stance and execute double middle section upper - set punch.

14. Step back with left leg out into right long stance and execute a low section X - block.

15. Turn 180 right moving right foot out into right long stance and execute double middle section block.

16a. Remain in the same stance execute double knife hand strike to the neck.

16b. Keeping right foot in place execute middle section strike with the left knee passing closed hands by both sides.

16c. Jump forward into left X - stance and execute double middle section upper - set punch.

17. Step back with right leg out into left long stance and execute a low section X - block.

18. Turn 90 left moving left foot into left walking stance and execute a left high section side - back fist strike.

19. Keeping left foot in place execute crescent kick to palm of left hand with right foot.

20. Step down with right foot into right horse - riding stance and execute right elbow strike into left palm.

21. Slide left foot forward into right walking stance and execute a right high section side - back - fist strike.

22. Keeping right foot in place execute crescent kick to palm of right hand with left foot.

23. Step down with left foot into left horse - riding stance and execute a left elbow strike into right palm.

24. Remain in same stance and execute a left knife hand block.

25. Close left hand, step forward into right horse - riding stance and execute a right middle section side punch - YELL.
