Taegeuk Yuk Jang

 

 

The symbol GAM, represents water. Water is liquid and formless. Water never loses its nature, it always flows downward. The principal behind this Taegeuk show us that we can overcome difficulties and hardships if we go forward with self-confidence. Actions should be performed with a flowing motion, moving steadily through the techniques.

 

1. Turn 90 left moving left foot out into left long stance and execute a left low section block.

2. Keeping left foot in place execute front kick with right leg.

3. Step back with right foot into left back stance and execute a single left middle section finger - side block.

4. Turn 180 right moving right foot into right long stance and execute a right low section block.

5. Keeping right foot in place execute front kick with left leg.

6. Step back with left foot into right back stance and execute a single right middle section finger - side block

7. Step 90 left moving left foot out into left long stance and execute a right high section knife-hand block.

8. Keeping right foot in place execute turning kick with right leg.

9a. Step right foot down beside left foot.

9b. Turn 90 left moving left foot out into left long stance and execute a left high section finger - side block.

9c. Remain in the same stance and execute a reverse punch with right fist.

10a. Keeping left foot in place execute front kick with right leg.

10b. Step down into right long stance and execute a reverse punch with left fist.

11a. Turn 180 right moving right foot out into right long stance and execute a right high section finger - side block.

11b. Remain in the same stance and execute a reverse punch with left fist.

12a. Keeping right foot in place execute front kick with left leg.

12b. Step down into left long stance and execute a reverse punch with right fist.

13. Turn 90 left into parallel ready stance, cross arms in front of body then slowly lower arms into double low section         block.

14. Step forward moving right foot out into right long stance and execute a left high section knife-hand block.

15. Keeping right foot in place execute turning kick with left leg - YELL.

16a. Step left foot down beside right foot.

16b. Turn 270 right moving right foot out into right long stance and execute a right low section block.

17a. Keeping right foot in place execute front kick with left leg.

17b. Step back with left foot into right back stance and execute a single right middle section finger - side block.

18. Turn 180 left moving left foot out into left long stance and execute a left low section block.

19a Keeping left foot in place execute front kick with right leg.

19b. Step back with right foot into left back stance and execute a single left middle section finger - side block.

20. Step back turning at 90 right into left back stance and execute a middle section knife-hand guarding block.

21. Step left leg back into right back stance and execute a middle section knife-hand guarding block.

22a. Step right leg back into left long stance and execute a left middle section palm block.

22b. Remain in the same stance and execute reverse punch with right fist.

23a. Step left leg back into right long stance and execute a right middle section palm block.

23b. Remain in the same stance and execute reverse punch with left fist.
